Peer Support

This program connects people at risk of limb loss with survivors who can answer their questions and provide a listening ear from the perspective of someone who has been there at no cost. Peers are available be phone, email, or virtual call.

Examples of help provided by the Peer Support Program:

inclusiveness and a safe way to express yourself.

About peer support

At The Limb Preservation Foundation, we offer one-on-one, peer-to-peer support for patients. Our Peer Support Program enhances medical care by providing emotional, social, and practical assistance, guiding you through limb-risk situations toward ultimate wellness.

A patient must be in active treatment or recovery for a limb-threatening condition related to one of the following and live in the Rocky Mountain Region – Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming:

  • Extremity tumor
  • Extremity trauma
  • Extremity infection

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no deadline for applications. They are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Applicants are notified about the status of their application within one week of submission.

Our volunteers, who have experienced similar challenges, serve as mentors, sharing their journeys of limb preservation or loss. If you would like to be a mentor, email laurie@limbpreservation.org.
