Hope Beyond Limits Keynote Speakers: Tomasso Lenzi, PhD and Jacob Georger, PhD

Tommaso Lenzi, PhD, the Director of the Bionic Engineering Lab with the Utah Robotics Center and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah, and Jacob George, PhD, Director of the Utah NeuroRobotics Lab at the University of Utah, will be keynote speakers at LPF’s Hope Beyond Limits Symposium on April 19, 2024 in Golden, Colorado.

Dr. Lenzi is the mind behind the Utah Bionic Leg, named TIME’s Best Invention of 2023. The leg enables users to walk effortlessly and perform more challenging movements such as squats and lunges. The Utah Bionic Leg is the only prosthesis in the world capable of faithfully replicating those actions.

Dr. Lenzi and Dr. George are highly regarded inventors and innovators in the field of next-generation prosthetic devices. Dr. George is developing advanced prostheses that are integrated with the arm nerves so that they can be controlled by thought and even restore a sense of touch.

Dr. George was named to FORBES 30 Under 30 brightest entrepreneurs and awarded the University of Utah Innovator of the Year Award. He has licensed technology to Biologic Input Output Systems (BIOS) to bring this futuristic technology to the market.

LPF’s annual Symposium brings together the limb loss and limb difference community, medical professionals, industry experts, and leading change-makers for an immersive experience to educate, empower, and envision the future of limb health and well-being.
